Defesa de Tese de Doutorado – PAULO ROBSON CAMPELO MALCHER
TÍTULO DA TESE: A Method for Supporting Requirements Change Identification in Software Ecosystems based on Open Innovation and CrowdRE
RESUMO DA DISSERTAÇÃO/TESE: Software ecosystems (SECO) have introduced complexity in requirements change management because of their open and dynamic nature. In SECO, multiple actors collaborate across several organizational boundaries and can create distinct crowds. This PhD thesis proposes SECO-RCI, a method to assist professionals in requirements change identification in SECO based on open innovation and crowd-based requirements engineering (CrowdRE). We applied Design Science Research to build SECO-RCI from a tertiary study, a systematic mapping study, an exploratory study and two field studies, and we also conducted a focus group and a single case study to evaluate the method acceptance. In the focus group, we gathered perceptions and suggestions on the method structure and content from five experts with practical experience in requirements management in SECO. In the single case study, we involved one professional who applied SECO-SCI to a real-world scenario within a global company. The results showed that our method can effectively assist professionals in requirements change identification in SECO. Employing SECO-RCI can improve the
understanding of characteristics that differentiate SECO from other software development contexts. Moreover, SECO-RCI supports more effective requirements communication among multiple actors of distinct crowds within a SECO regarding requirements change.
