Academic Trajectory: Professor Diirr has a solid background aligned with the PPGI-UNIRIO program, with a research trajectory in Information Systems, Complex Systems Management, Collaborative Systems, and Business Process Management.

She obtained her undergraduate degree in Information Systems and her master’s degree in Computer Science from UNIRIO, consolidating her academic foundation at the institution. Subsequently, she completed her doctorate in Computer Science at UFRJ, focusing on Complex Systems Management, deepening her studies at the intersection between technology and organizational processes.

During her doctoral studies, she had the opportunity to undertake a sandwich doctorate in the United States at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where she expanded her research into improvisation and disaster management, exploring new approaches to adapting technological systems in critical and emergency scenarios.

After completing her doctorate, she returned to UNIRIO to undertake a postdoctoral fellowship focused on interorganizational relationship management, bringing an innovative perspective to the management of complex systems.

Her career reflects a strong commitment to interdisciplinarity and the practical application of academic research, characteristics that guide her work at PPGI-UNIRIO.

Scientific Contribution: Professor Diirr has distinguished herself both in scientific production and in securing research funding, consolidating her role in the development of innovative projects and the training of new researchers.

One of her main achievements was an article published in the Brazilian Symposium on Information Systems (SBSI), which led to approval for funding under the FAPERJ APQ-1 grant. This funding also enabled the granting of an undergraduate research scholarship, allowing students to engage in research.

The quality of her students’ training is evidenced by the academic recognition of her supervision. A master’s dissertation under her supervision was selected for an award at CTDSI, reinforcing the impact of her work as a researcher and supervisor.

Furthermore, she regularly publishes at prestigious events, including SBSI, the Brazilian Symposium on Collaborative Systems (SBSC), and the Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS), with a focus on collaborative systems.

Prof. Diirr also actively contributes to the scientific community through her participation in scientific committees and the organization of events, serving as a member of the SBSC organization and the Special Committee on Collaborative Systems (CE-SC) between 2021 and 2022.

Her academic work is enriched by interinstitutional collaborations with researchers at UFRJ, UFBA, UFF, and UFJF, strengthening research networks and expanding its reach on the national stage.

Contribution to PPGI-UNIRIO: Prof. Diirr’s work at PPGI-UNIRIO has stood out for promoting interdisciplinarity, applied research, and internationalization, thereby strengthening the program on multiple fronts.

She has attracted students from diverse fields, including Computer Science, Business Administration, and Production Engineering, thereby expanding academic diversity within the PPGI-UNIRIO program and fostering a more integrated, multidisciplinary research environment.

Furthermore, she consistently seeks to promote applied research, encouraging projects that have an impact in both academia and industry, bringing the university closer to the productive sector and enabling the effective implementation of research results.

Another relevant aspect of her work is her effort to strengthen the program’s internationalization. Despite the challenges in establishing institutional partnerships abroad, she has worked to expand collaboration with international researchers, promoting greater visibility and opportunities for PPGI-UNIRIO students.

Researcher Training: Since joining PPGI-UNIRIO in 2020, Professor Diirr has built a consistent track record of academic mentoring, contributing to the training of new researchers and qualified professionals.

By the end of 2024, five master’s students had already completed their studies under her guidance, and another four master’s students were in progress. Furthermore, she currently supervises doctoral students, expanding her role in postgraduate studies.

The positive impact of her supervision is evidenced by former students’ interest in returning to doctoral programs, demonstrating the relevance and quality of the academic guidance she provides.

Her research is strongly aligned with market challenges, enabling academic knowledge to be applied in practice, contributing to innovative solutions and the integration of students into the professional and academic sectors.

Visibility and Impact in the Scientific Community: Professor Diirr has been actively working to strengthen her academic performance and increase the visibility of the PPGI-UNIRIO program, adopting strategies that combine scientific production, committee participation, and research dissemination. Her career is marked by continuous publications at renowned conferences and in journals in the field, ensuring that her research reaches a qualified academic audience. Furthermore, she has an active presence on scientific committees of the SBSI and SBSC, contributing to the organization and development of discussions in these communities.

Her involvement in organizing the SBSC and the Special Committee on Collaborative Systems (CE-SC) between 2021 and 2022 reinforces her commitment to promoting scientific events and structuring spaces for debate among researchers in the field. She has also focused on disseminating research on social media and at academic events, expanding the reach of her contributions and encouraging the dissemination of knowledge beyond the strictly academic sphere.

To make her projects more attractive and accessible, the professor adopts strategies such as updating the descriptions of her work with relevant keywords, facilitating engagement with the academic community, and maximizing the impact of her research.
